As I have promised and promised for the last few weeks I am finally posting my Corned Beer and Cabbage Recipe. I had hoped to post it before Saint Patrick's Day but it just didn't happen, I won't even try to make excuses for it. I use this same recipe in both the crockpot and my broaster. I will include the directions for both in the recipe.
Corned Beef Brisket with Spice Packet
1 medium onion, sliced very thin
1 garlic clove or 2 tablespoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 bay leaf
1 head of cabbage
1. Place Corned Beef Brisket in bottom of broaster oven or slow cooker.
2. On top of brisket add spice packet, ground mustard, celery seed, and garlic.
3. Cut head of cabbage into wedges and place around the corned beef brisket, top off with sliced onions, and bay leaf. Cover with water.
4. Cook in broaster oven at 350 degrees for four to six hours or on low in the slow cooker for seven to eight hours. Corned beef is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
