Pumpkin Shaped Rice Krispie Treats

Little Man's Boy Scout Troop headed out to the pumpkin patch on Tuesday night at a local farm.  Before we went pumpkin eating there was a pitch-in supper.  Little Man's den was in charge of bringing something sweet, so I thought these cute little Pumpkin Shaped Rice Krispie Treats would be the perfect thing to take along.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures the colors look a little "off", I am sure it was the lighting in my kitchen.

These little pumpkins are sooo easy to make, and are perfect for this time of the year.

To make these Pumpkin Shaped Rice Krispie Treats you will need:

6 cups Rice Krispies (I used the store brand)
10 ounces miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons of butter
orange food coloring
caramel candy squares

First measure out your Rice Krispies and put them aside.

Then mix together the butter and marshmallows.  Place in a microwave safe bowl and put in the microwave until marshmallows melt, it takes about five minutes.

While your marshmallow/butter mix is in the microwave cut your caramels into fourths.

After marshmallow mix is melted mix in with the cereal.  Yes this looks really nasty at this point.

Stir in orange food coloring.  I didn't have orange so mixed in yellow and red to make orange.

With greased hands rolls cereal into pumpkin shaped balls, and put a piece of caramel on the top for the stem.
