A Year of Small Changes Challenge, Week Four

It is week four of the Year of Small Changes Challenge from The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans and this week should be a breeze for me because it is all about meal planning and tracking food.  Two things I already do. 

Last week of course was a little more difficult for me because it was about getting active and finding ways to exercise each day.  I don't have much time for the gum.  I went once last week and it was my first trip to the gym in 2015.  Needless to say I need to find other ways to get in my exercise.  I have decided that increasing my activity level in general might be a good way to do that.  To help me keep track of my activity levels I ended up purchasing a Fitbit Flex.

 I have learned that I don't get in nearly as many steps as I could be and there are massive differences in the amounts of steps I take each day.  Right now I am wearing it for a week, Friday will be my one week mark, and at the end of the week average the amount of steps each day.  Once I …

It's the last week of January already!  I can't believe how quickly this week is already flying by.  I took time last Sunday to do some meal prep and it made my whole week go by so much smoother.  I think this is something I am going to have to keep doing.

Heres what I have planned for this week:

Monday

Menu Plan Monday, January 19 -25, 2015

Join us for Menu Plan Monday at I'm an Organizing Junkie. Can we really already be three weeks into 2015?  This year is already flying by and it just started.  We tried a couple of new recipes last week and both whttp://allrecipes.com/recipe/italian-vegetable-soup/ere hits!  The Grilled Cheesy Buffalo Chicken and Foil Baked Salmon with Asparagus got rave reviews and will make an appearance on our dinner table again! This week will be another busy week with the kids having sports that will have us eating out three days this week. A Year of Small Changes Challenge

I have so many changes I want to make and I want to live a healthier lifestyle but I often get overwhelmed with the amount of change that needs to take place.  That's why the A Year of Small Changes Challenge from The Sisterhood of Shrinking Jeans is so perfect for me!  Using the book Small Changes by Brett Blumenthal they are working on accomplishing fifty-two small changes over the year. 

This is week two and this week has been all about sleep.  The goal is to get between seven and eight hours sleep each night.  For someone who is as busy as me I have a hard time getting enough sleep.  I have been working hard to spend the last hour before bed winding down.  I have cut out the screen time and use small lamps instead of the overhead light to help ease the transition to bed.  I have done well getting at least seven hours of sleep each night with the exception of Wednesday night when I got about six hours of sleep.  I was exhausted Thursday and the lack of sleep was noticeable.
